Isn't it like economy drives people's career path!

Mr. Gates is of the view that number of students choosing computer science field is declining every year and urging for more funds into R n D. (http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1895,1838435,00.asp)

Well, isn't it like when the economy is growing and country is propering in IT student will go into that field. In every month in most of the newspaper US employment office publishes that " x number of IT jobs cut down" or "x company is firing y number of IT workforce. Whereas in country like India everyother day there is a new offshore office of some US based company is spring off and claiming to hire hundreds of IT (software and hardware jobs). This is what drives people to go into field where they see the potention to grow and prosper.

In a country like India where government and healthcare etc. doesn't spend a lot into R n D, its economic drive which brings plenty of computer science graduates into the IT field. And then only US finds "itself struggling to stay ahead of the Bangalores of the world".
